Mediaite-Rep. Alan Grayson; "Bush Allowed 9/11 To Happen"

Dem. Rep. Alan Grayson: MSNBC/Mediaite
(Story reported by Frances Martel for Mediaite)

Florida Congressman Alan Grayson is very insulted in the name of the families of 9/11 victims. Except he’s not worrying so much about the “athletic center” replacing the old Burlington Coat Factor a few blocks from Ground Zero– he’s still angry that George W. Bush allowed the 9/11 attacks to take place.

Rep. Grayson isn’t exactly the type to tone down any argument, but the current emotional levels of the “Ground Zero Mosque” debate are pretty hard to top, even for him. Still, after a lengthy explanation of things that are more important than the mosque (America’s national life expectancy is “just below Albania,” no one knows how to do any math), Grayson found a way: blaming the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 on President Bush:

“If we are going to talk about 9/11, why don’t we talk about how not so much the people who died on 9/11 were disgraced by the possibility of an Islamic athletic center several blocks away; how about the fact that they were disgraced by a president who let it happen? Who went on vacation for the entire month of August after he was warned in writing that Osama bin Laden was actually finding targets in NYC and learning how to take these planes and do terrible things with them? The thing itself said ‘hijacking’ and they did nothing about it.”
