CNN anchor Don Lemon shocked viewers by revealing live on air that he had been abused as a child.

The 44-year-old made the announcement during a segment discussing the scandal involving Georgia bishop Eddie Long, who has been accused of sexually abusing male teenagers at his church.

"I am going to tell you something I have never admitted this on television," Mr. Lemon said on Saturday.

"I am a victim of a pedophile when I was a kid. Someone who was much older than me."

He added: " I have never admitted that on television.I didn't tell my mom that until I was 30 years old."
